Flag Football page header

Harrisburg Flag Football was established in 2007 and had grown to serve over 200 boys and girls annually from 1st through 4th grades. The goal of the Foundation continues to ensure that the players learn the fundamentals of football, while fostering teamwork, in a fun and supporting environment.

The program consists of scheduled practice weeks, 6 regular season games, playoff games, and a Championship game for each age group.  All equipment will be provided except a mouth guard (required) and cleats (optional).  All participants, coaches, and volunteers must sign the appropriate liability release form (download below) prior to the player, coach, or volunteer participating in any Harrisburg Flag Football activity.  Teams are set up by age and consist of both boys and girls but are limited to 10 players per team.  Each team must have at least 2 coaches (parents). 

Registration Fees:
Cost is $25 if received by June 15th
Late Registration Fee is $35 up to July 31st
After July 31st the only registrations accepted on a case by case basis.

Volunteering:

Hello All~
 
Thank you for signing your child up for this years Flag Football program.  I am contacting you for three reasons;  volunteer opportunities, important dates and sponsorship opportunites.
 
First of all I am in need of some help in order to make this season successful.  Here is a list of positions that I would like to fill as soon as possible:
Field Manager:  This person would be in charge of getting the fields marked according to specs, putting appropriate field signs/scoreboards out on game days, and would occasionally be in charge of referees during games in which I will be unable to attend. 
 
Rules Manager:  This person would be the contact person for the rules.....answering any questions during coaches/referee meetings and throughout the season.
 
Scheduling Manager:  This person is in charge of setting the initial schedule, keeping track of and posting weekly stats, and scheduling playoff week. 
 
Equipment Manager:  This person would be in charge of equipment inventory, ordering additional equipment, check out/in, and end of year inventory. 
 
*None of these roles takes a lot of time however, they make the season run so much smoother for our kids.  Please let me know soon if you are able to help. 
 
Second here are some important dates to keep track of:
August 16th..........Liberty Elementary orientation 6:30
August 18th..........Journey, Explorer, and Freedom  6:30
August 19th..........Absolute final day to register for the 2011 Flag Football season. 
August 21st..........Coaches meeting 7pm at the Legion in Harrisburg.
August 23rd..........1st practice  *you will be notified by your coach as to the location of your practice.
August 24th..........1st day of School
August 25th..........2nd practice
August 27th..........1st game   *exact times and fields will be announced after all teams are set.
August 30th..........3rd practice
Sept. 1st...............4th practice  *after the 4th pract. it is up to each team to decide to continue pract. each week.
Sept. 3rd...............NO GAME.....Labor Day weekend.
Sept. 10th.............2nd game
Sept. 17th.............3rd game
Sept. 24th.............4th game
Oct.  1st................5th game
Oct.  8th................6th game
Oct. 10th-14th.......Playoff week.
Oct. 15th...............Championship games.
 
*Teams and schedules will not be finalized until after August 19th but hopefully these dates will help you out in the mean time. 
 
Thirdly I am currently looking for sponsorship for each team.  If you/your business/place of employment is interested in sponsoring a team please contact me for more information.
 
 
Please feel free to forward this information to anyone interested in Flag Football this season.  As noted above the absolute last day to register(meaning I have registration/payment in hand) is August 19th.
